2-Day Workshop: Framing for Soft Pastels ● August 22 & 23
Learn to frame your own soft pastel paintings -and leave with your own beautifully framed artwork- in this two-day workshop. August 22 &23
Day 1: Friday, August 22 · 5-7pm
Day 2: Saturday, August 23 · 9am-Noon
6 person limit
Beginner/All Levels
Adult (16+)
I've been framing my own soft pastel paintings without mats for the past five years. In this class, I'll show you how I do it. You'll learn about spacers, UV glass, rabbit depth, point drivers, and more. Then, I'll lead you through, step-by-step, as you frame your own work. All the necessary materials and supplies will be provided - so you can focus on learning the process! You'll leave with your own artwork, beautifully framed and ready to hang!
***
Day one: Watch me frame an example artwork and learn about the tools and materials needed to frame your own work. I'll show you how to trim your painting to the desired size and you'll mount your work onto self-adhesive mounting board, leaving it to cure overnight.
Day two: At the start of the second day, learn how to photograph your mounted paintings. It's important to document your art before framing. Next, I'll lead you through, step-by-step, as you frame your own work. I'll provide a few tips on what information to write on the back of your framed art, as well as tips and tricks on how to keep your artworks digitally logged and organized. At the end of Day 2, you'll leave with your own framed artwork - ready to hang! - and the confidence and skills necessary to try it at home.
