Adult (16+)
It's the desire for perfection that prevents so many people from enjoying the art-making process. During this class, you'll learn techniques to release yourself from perfectionism. I'll teach you ways to free yourself from the criticism and control of the ego. This freedom, in turn, will allow you to enter the beautiful state of flow.
At the start of class, I'll lead a warm-up exercise designed to help liberate you from your inner critic. Once you're comfortable and loose, you will practice these skills as you work individually on your own drawings.
Materials Provided:
- drawing boards and artist tape
- 2 sheets of 12"x16" Canson Mi Tienes drawing paper
- 1 sheet of 8"x10" Sennelier La Carte sanded pastel card
- NuPastel firm pastel sticks
- Rembrandt soft pastels
You may choose to bring any of the following:
- your own soft pastels
- a small table-top easel like this one
- additional sheets of soft pastel paper or sanded card
Included with all classes:
- Hot tea, still and sparkling water

- A complimentary notecard of your choice
Classes are located at Mary Pow's studio in NE Minneapolis. Directions and parking instructions will be emailed prior to class.
Withdrawals
If you need to withdraw from the class, please email Mary Pow at [email protected]. If your withdrawal request is received at least 10 business days before the start of your class, you are eligible to receive a refund (minus a $25 processing fee). Refunds will be issued to the same form of payment that was used to purchase the class. If your withdrawal request is received less than 10 business days before the start of your class, no refunds will given; however, you may transfer your class spot to another person.
Cancellations
If minimum enrollment is not met by the registration deadline, I reserve the right to cancel the class. In this case, you will receive a full refund. Registration deadline is one week before the start of the class.
Minimum enrollment for this class is 6 people.
