Satori
"Satori" received the Pastel Society Award at the 2026 Lake Country Pastel Society Exhibition. The beautiful show is on exhibit through June 21, 2026 at the Hopkins Center for the Arts. 

I named this painting after the Zen idea of total presence. Satori is that feeling of being ONE with all living things: a state of complete inner peace and no-mind. I have a glimpse of this occasionally, and it is a feeling I strive to relay to others through my art. I imagine bees don't have to strive, instead they simply are ONE with the universe, doing their bee-thing without having to think about it.
